Lake Tahoe Conservation

The Tahoe Fund uses the power of philanthropy to improve the Lake Tahoe environment for all to enjoy. Since 2010, they have worked with partners like the California Tahoe Conservancy and Nevada Division of State Lands. Their efforts ensure more environmental projects are completed in the Lake Tahoe Basin.

The California Tahoe Conservancy is a state agency leading California’s efforts to restore Lake Tahoe’s natural and recreational resources. They manage 4,700 state properties as part of a mission to restore and enhance the extraordinary natural and recreational resources around the Lake Tahoe Basin.

Through grants, projects, and partnerships, they steward 6,500 acres of Conservancy public lands. They provide public recreation opportunities, enhances access to the shoreline, restore wetlands and wildlife habitat, and improve forest health, while reducing wildfire threat.

Over 95% of the funds generated by plate sales and renewals will fund these projects. These include hiking and biking trails, watershed restoration projects, and keeping Lake Tahoe’s waters blue.

This is your opportunity to support the local environment and enjoy a free day of skiing or riding!
